      It was with much interest that I read the recent systematic review by Yapp et al. (

      ) examining the effects of provided clinical history on radiologists’ diagnostic performance. I commend the authors on the significant work they have invested in performing a methodologically rigorous review. However, the breadth of the title and conclusion, as written, may be misleading and could potentially be viewed by referring healthcare providers as reason to withhold clinical information in an attempt to prevent false positives, despite the known importance of clinical history to the proper performance and interpretation of examinations, as noted in the accompanying editorial by Reed (
