Since described nearly 20 years ago (

), 4D parathyroid CT has become widely adopted for preoperative localization of parathyroid
adenoma in the setting of biochemically diagnosed primary hyperparathyroidism. The
variable appearances and typical locations of parathyroid adenomas along the embryologic
tracts of descent have been well described (

). Parathyroid adenomas are typically distinguishable from lymph nodes due to distinctive
enhancement patterns (
